The composition of the elements of the process equipment and the total cost of creation of treatment facilities varies considerably in different directions of sanitation (in pond or in a centralized system).
Cleaning of manufacturing wastewater is carried out by using a special set of complex and energy-efficient equipment. Polluted runoff of any enterprise has a number of features that make it environmentally aggressive, require special purification techniques that have never been used in the treatment of domestic effluent. Industrial wastewater treatment requires a deep knowledge of specific production of technological processes.
Effective wastewater treatment plants are strictly regulated procedure that is carried out in a concerted effort of a number of mechanisms, components and transport communications. Violation of even one of the agreed design and technology solutions can disrupt the optimum design parameters for each subsequent process and apparatus, and generally reduce the effectiveness – until the failure of the whole complex of treatment facilities.
Clean water – the key to the survival of humanity. Unfortunately, the ecological situation today is that many fresh water sources are contaminated. That is why concern for the environment becomes so necessary. In particular, we are talking about water resources. In industry, water is used very actively, but without proper cleaning it returns into natural water bodies. Wastewater treatment must become for enterprises number one environmental challenge. There are many ways to clean and, thanks to the development of modern technology, we can achieve really high degree of wastewater treatment.
But the creation of treatment facilities is complex technological problem that requires deep theoretical knowledge and years of practical experience, which we solve with professional partners. Two identical companies do not exist – there are similar, but there is no completely identical. They are differ in appearance and the type of feedstock, on the specifics of the process equipment, the depth of processing of raw materials and the range of products, as well as the coefficient of unevenness of the use of water during the day. But that’s not all. Norms for discharge may also differ significantly from each other – for discharge to sewage collectors, the local water utility department exhibit their regulatory requirements, and they are sometimes stiffness comparable with requirements to drinking water.
In the practice, the construction of treatment facilities are being built complexes in two basic types – water and sewer. Each of these treatment facilities types has its own varieties, as well as the specific features of both the composition and the individual device installations, and on technological processes occurring in them.
Types of treatment facilities and methods of purification of commercial domestic wastewater
Sewage treatment plants can be divided into three types according to the principle of technological wastewater treatment – mechanical, chemical and biological, which may be combined with each other to form a multi-stage cleaning system.
Water treatment facilities
The method of the water treatment and composition of the water treatment facilities depend on the quality of raw water, the requirements for drinking water quality, and the technological scheme adopted for its cleaning.
Technological processes of water treatment includes its lightening, bleaching and disinfecting. The water is coagulated, advocates and filters, as well as passes processing with chlorine. If the quality of source water allows you to give up some of its treatment of technological processes, correspondingly reduces a complex of structures.
Standard requirements to purified drinking water predetermines almost identical composition and structure of buildings. In all, without exception, water treatment plants (regardless of their power, performance, type and other characteristics) includes such components:
– Reagent unit with mixer;
– Flocculation chamber;
– Horizontal (less vertical) settling chamber and clarifiers;
– Mechanical filters;
– Container for purified water;
– Pumping stations;
– Utility-ancillary, administrative and household objects.
Sewage treatment facilities
Sewage treatment facilities, as well as running water – is a complex of engineering buildings, interconnected by technological process of wastewater treatment. On wastewater treatment, facilities are exposed to mechanical, chemical and biochemical (biological) treatment.
During the mechanical treatment from the liquid phase of wastewater separated suspended solids and coarse mechanical impurities by straining, sedimentation and filtration. In some cases, mechanical cleaning is final. However, more often it serves as a preparation for the future, for example, biochemical treatment.
Into a complex of treatment facilities intended for the mechanical purification of waste water include: grating, intended for the detention of large compounds of organic and mineral origin; sand trap to separate heavy mineral impurities (mainly fishing line); sedimentation to separate settling sediment (mostly organic); chlorination unit with contact vessel in which contact occurs of the clarified wastewater with chlorine in order to destroy harmful bacteria. By processing the incoming wastewater on specified constructions after disinfection, they can be retracted into the reservoir.
The scheme of chemical wastewater treatment is different from the mechanical introduction to the mixer settlers and reagent facilities. Thus treated wastewater after gratings and sand traps fed into the mixer where it is added to the reagent for coagulating, and then to a settler for clarification. Wastewater from the sump is discharged either directly into the pond, or first to the filter for further clarification, and then into the pond. Facilities for the treatment of sludge during chemical cleaning are the same, as in the mechanical.
Biochemical purification of wastewater, depending on local conditions, is usually carried out on the three main circuit’s facilities: on the fields of irrigation and filtration fields, on the bio filters and aero tanks. During the first scheme, the wastewater passing through the grid enters the sand trap and then to septic tanks for lightening and deworming, from where it is directed to the field of irrigation and filtration fields and then into the pond. During the second scheme, the wastewater first passes through a mechanical treatment facilities and pre-aeration (preaeratory), further it is fed to bio filters and then the secondary settling tank for separation from purified water substances, carried out from the bio filter. Cleaning finishes by disinfection of wastewater before going into the pond. During the third scheme, pre-treatment of wastewater produced on the grid, sand trap, preaeratorah and sumps.
Their next cleaning is done in the aeration tank, and then in the secondary settling tank and ends by disinfection, after which the water is discharged into the pond. Selection of the type of facilities for the biological treatment of wastewater produced according to several factors, including: the desired degree of wastewater treatment, the size of the area under treatment facilities (a large area needed for the device irrigated fields and much less for aeration), the nature of the soil, the relief area and etc. The scheme of treatment facilities selected in accordance with economic indicators – construction and operating cost of structures.
